History and background

Gleneagles Global Hospitals at Lakdi-ka-pul, known as Global Hospitals, was the first Gleneagles Global hospital opened in Hyderabad and belongs to the Global Hospitals Group, founded in 1999 by Dr. K. Ravindranath. It pioneered the first heart transplant in the erstwhile states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, performed the region's first bone marrow transplant and the first twin kidney transplant, and reports India's first successful split and auxiliary liver transplant. It was ranked second-best multi-specialty hospital in Hyderabad and among the top 10 in South India in a 2021 Times of India survey.

The hospital is known for liver, kidney, heart and lung transplants, and also offers hepatology, nephrology, bariatrics, gastroenterology, multi-organ transplants, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, oncology, cardiac sciences, paediatrics, psychiatry, endocrinology, ENT, orthopaedics, spine surgery, gastro sciences, general and laparoscopic surgery and pulmonology.

Technology and facilities

The hospital has about 150 beds and six operation theatres, with robotic and minimal-access capability, and multiple ICUs including a surgical ICU, CT-ICU, step-down ICU, liver ICU and post-transplant units. It is accredited by NABH and NABL.
